Covid guidlines for patients – February 2022

The prime minister has outlined the plan for living with COVID-19. In General Practice very little is changing.

We have a duty to protect our patients who are at a significant risk of harm should they catch covid AND we have a duty of care to our staff to protect them. Our staff will continue to isolate if they test positive for COVID-19.

Masks and social distancing remain mandatory while in the surgery for staff and patients alike unless exempt.  If you are unable to wear a mask you may be asked to attend when no other patients are at the surgery.

To keep everyone safe and the surgery fully staffed we will continue to offer telephone consultations as the first option where appropriate and to invite patients who have a clinical need to be seen face to face to an appointment at the surgery.

Patients who test positive or suspect they may have COVID-19 must not attend for an appointment. This is anyone with a temperature, new continuous cough and/or loss of taste and smell.  If you are not sure whether your symptoms may be Covid 19 please ring and speak to a doctor.  You may want to do a Lateral Flow Test if you have one before attending the surgery for an appointment.

Thank you for your continued understanding and support.
